Nothing Tops Love!

The task is not to find the lovable object but to find the object before you lovable.

-Soren Kierkegaard

Don’t be so tied up in what you consider to be truth telling that it becomes more important than loving.  Living a life of love is not about telling people where they are wrong but showing them the love of Christ.  I have spent my life studying. I have spent time in online seminary and even been ordained as a minister.  I have attended many churches and heard many sermons.  The problem is scripture can be interpreted a thousand different ways.  Even the ten commandments are up for discussion. Growing up and into my adulthood I attended many religious classes and open discussions.  After more than an hour of discussing the virtues of a given verse I spoke up and explained that Christ said in Matthew 22 that only two things matter.  Loving him and loving each other. All of scripture and  life hangs on these two principles.  The room got quit.  The leader said “Actually it is that simple”.  However our nature is to look deeper.  To spend hours in proving that our way of living is better then the next.  That our interpretation of scripture counts more than others.  As I stood waiting I started a conversation with the woman standing near me.  She had decided not to go to Disney World because their values had changed. She had always loved Disney but they now supported gay people. Wouldn’t Christ go to Disney… where all the people are… simply so he could love them?

I Love You! – Perry
