How Big Is Your God?
There are nights it gets to be to much. The tears come and prayers stream from my heart. I see something… I here stories that remind me of the pain so many go through. The hatred. The judgement. The humiliation. Why do people with different backgrounds… those of color…. those that are born with different sexual preferences… have to endure so much hatred and humiliating judgement? Why do they have to put up with bigotry from so many that call themselves Christians. I was wondering what makes us afraid of two men, of two women, being together? All the things we could fear in this world and we chose to fear love. Why do we fear those that don’t fit the mold we have developed in our religions? Those from other faiths, those from other countries, those that interpret scripture different than we do. Why do we feel the need to arm ourselves and build huge walls? Is our God not big enough to supply our protection and our needs? Is our God not big enough to love and save those that we find different? Does our God not have enough power to overcome what we consider evil? How can we have so much conceit to believe it is our job to pass judgement and condemnation? When in fact our job is love and love alone. What gives us the nerve to believe that it’s our way or no way? My God, the one I worship, is big enough to allow me to rest in simply loving. Knowing he will set everything right someday! I Love You! – Perry
