His Eye Is On The Sparrow!
Songs and music. So much power and so much emotion. Songs and music take us back in time. It stirs emotion… Music fills our hearts and produces in us endorphins like no other type of joy. A song that has always been one of my favorites recently moved up the chart of songs in my heart. “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”. Written by Civilla Martin and Charles Gabriel in 1905. A few of the lyrics – “I sing because I’m happy – I sing because I’m free – His eye is on the sparrow – and I know he watches over me”. Many of you don’t know but six months ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. So many thoughts and emotions come crashing down at once. I went thru days of why me. I went thru days of “I just want it to be gone”. You feel helpless. There are times in your life when you hit your knees and this was one of them. Then the lyrics of this song flooded my heart. If God cares so deeply for a single sparrow, as he says in Matthew 6, then surely he will watch over me. He started to put friends in my path… not only for prayer… but for information and natural remedies. As of today my numbers have dropped dramatically and the doctor thinks it might be gone. Our God is amazing and he lives in each person and each part of our world. He has given us all we need. No matter your situation don’t forget he loves the sparrow outside your window, oh… but he loves you so much more.
