Let Love Lead!
Jesus and most other great spiritual teachers make it clear that there is a self that has to be found and one that has to be let go of or “renounced.” The only way to lasting peace is to renounce the part of you that leads you away from love. Ego is the problem. Ego is led by a desire to increase our self esteem from a place of hate and not a place of love. Only by truly feeling the presence of the holy spirit in your life, and the love that God has for you will you create the self esteem you need to vanquish your ego. Ego is a human way to try and make yourself feel better about your existence. Ego says I am better than you. Ego says I am the best. Ego calls others names. Ego drives racism and ego says my lifestyle is right and yours is wrong. Ego says my ethnicity is better than yours. When leaders drive their agenda based on ego its because they do not feel good about who they are and the life they lead. Only a strong self esteem will drive out hate… eliminate selfishness… and abolish prejudice. A self esteem that comes from knowing who made you and who loves you. I use to suffer from an inflamed ego. Wanting to have more than others. Wanting to be better than others and looking at others with judgement. Only when I came to a deep understanding of who I am, and how much God loves me, did that ego leave and love for all remained. Don’t let ego define you. Let total love lead your heart.
