Love To and For All!
Imagine what would happen if today… this very minute… everyone on earth started to accept others the way they are. If everyone in all countries… in all churches… in all families, accepted others without judgement or condemnation. What if everyone saw themselves as part of the human race instead of just part of a country or nationality. Being friends? Not necessary. Being companions? Not required. Loving? Always! No matter where they come from… or who they are. Did not our Savior say “Love the least of these the most”? Why do we feel like we have to be judge and jury when others lifestyles do not match ours? Why do we as Americans feel like we are the world police and in charge of what everyone should think or do? I read a lot about Mother Teresa. So much wisdom and so much to learn from such a servant. She was a person who truly understood the heart of our Jesus and his father. Mother Teresa felt that if she took sides, or played the judge, she could not be what Jesus had told her to be—love to and for all. She said “If I start correcting and pointing out “sinners” I can no longer be an instrument of love and reconciliation for them”. Maybe our purpose on earth isn’t to be the thought police first, and then love others after all their ideas line up as they should. Maybe my first order of business is to risk my own certainty about God and love others where and how they are! No matter how they do on MY theology exam. I Love You! – Perry
