The Only Thing That Will Work!
The year was 1953. People had overcome the depression and everyone trusted the government… the church… and the leaders of that time. The news reported what was happening and people believed what they saw and heard. The year is 2026 and things have changed. Recent studies show that in 1953, 89% of the people trusted the government, the churches, and the news. Today that same study shows that only 17%, trust those three things. What has changed? What has happened to our country? Leaders have taken advantage of the trust and the power. Our government leaders, our church leaders, are all about vanity and self advancement. Egotism is out of control in the church and in the government. If your lifestyle or the place you come from does not match what our leaders think is right then you are ridiculed publicly. These are things that were never found in Christ. Jesus’ heart was not judgmental or vain… he was not egocentric or showy. He simply accepted everyone when and where they were at. As he spoke to the woman at the well he declared “the time for the messiah is here. No matter your lifestyle, belief in me is all the water you will every need”. He knew her past… he new her ethnicity… he did not care. He simply loved. If we want the trust back, then leaders have to change. Institutions have to change. Judgement based on lifestyle, ethnicity, social status, or religious preference has to change. Having the heart of Jesus is the only thing that will work! I Love You! – Perry
