A Glimpse Of Jesus!

I don’t like many sports.  I don’t see why there is a need to cheer for one team, while desiring something bad for the other.  I don’t see the need to feel superior, simply because on a given day I performed better than the other guy.  I don’t have a single competitive bone in my body. If you are doing better than me, I am proud for you.   If anything I am competitive with myself.  I wake up everyday wanting to be better today then I was yesterday. Only when we pray for a non-competitive character will we truly understand the nature of God. As a people we live in a dualistic world.  Constantly competing to see who is better… us or them.  Most religions compete with each other.  Most countries compete as to who is the greatest. As Americans we think we are high above others, when in fact in Gods plan we are all on the same playing field.  Races of people compete, as well as class levels.  Politics… lets not even go there!  Paul asserts, in Romans, that “God doesn’t play favorites. All human beings are on the same level, whatever their religious background. We are all united in our need of grace”.  In the dualistic thinking we have developed, we see everything as short / tall, black / white, Catholic / Protestant, gay / straight.  Our egos feed on that! The minute something is different we choose sides.  We want to feel better about ourselves!  It takes practice but what if everyone let go of pride and ego.  The world would then catch a glimpse of our Savior.

I Love You! – Perry
